If you're having problems with X11 on Leopard, get an updated version from the source: http://xquartz.macosforge.o...

crazybob The D700 has an "AF-assist illuminator" built in that works up to 10ft.: http://tinyurl.com/53prnf
crazybob Maybe the 5DmkII will have an AF-assist lamp built in.
crazybob I want an AF assist lamp for my 5D. Ideally, it would have a flash cradle on top where I could stick my PocketWizard.

crazybob Refurb. 8GB iPod Nano on Woot for $125: http://woot.com/ (goes for $150 on apple.com)
crazybob @cbeust: I was referring specifically to one of the latter Scala examples in your blog post.
crazybob @dhanji: I don't have to remember it. I can look at the code and see it.
crazybob Inferring types of expressions works everywhere, not just local vars, and is therefore more useful and consistent.
crazybob I used to think I wanted type inference for locals, but then someone helped me realize that I really want inference for exprs not decls.
crazybob @dhanji: Now you're going down the hungarian notion road which means you'll have to repeat the type everywhere instead of once in the decl.
crazybob @dhanji: Re: local var type inference. I can't tell from looking at the code what any of the types are.
crazybob Sworn off of Scala after reading the solutions to @cbeust's coding challenge: http://tinyurl.com/3lkmrv Local var type inference: bad idea.
crazybob Retweet: morrildl: Okay, @crazybob, you win. Guice+warp-widgets made me not hate Java anymore.
crazybob If I get a straight line w/ slope≈1 when I graph LOG10(max) vs. LOG10(#ops), what is the O(?) of my function?
crazybob @paulrbrown: How long does it take to run for max=10^10? ;-)
crazybob I prefer the longer version of my code. Despite being twice as long, it would be a lot easier to maintain.
