@coolcatteacher I've got several students who might fit that bill, and are in the Charlotte area . . . what are you looking for?
@shudson71 I have, and it is! We tried to talk with folks about virtual worlds being part of the 'real' world, not distinct.
@ewanmcintosh They expect presence -- not just here and there in classes, but ubiquitous access to professors and peers.
@ewanmcintosh Just read one of my students' blogs -- you had a big impact on her in Boston -- can't wait for her to share with others! Thx!
Reflecting on conversation at Amsterdam conference -- folks were concerned that 'virtual worlds' would replace 'real life' :)
OK - so presenter today is very negative about Web 2.0 apps contending that there's too much junk and too few 'experts' mediating ...
Listening to very different presentations: one argues that there need to be 'standards' in web communities; one that comms. create their own
I'm in my hotel in Amsterdam, waiting for the start of the IADIS Web-Based Communities Conference tomorrow -- should be fun!
Sitting on my screened porch, thinking that Twitter could be addictive if I'd let it. :)
Anyone working in virtual worlds? Call for papers: http://tinyurl.com/6hqtg4
Sitting on my screened porch on a pretty darn lovely night here ... trying to get motivated to review some things students have sent
Been writing all day -- enjoying the brain candy CSI episode I DVRd. :)
@badassturtle Heavens, I'd think so! That's one reason I try to avoid lecturing. :)
Tornado warning here -- yikes!
Logged into our 3D world in which we teach -- talking there with an educator from Australia about how it developed
Watching final presentations in my Integrating Tech into Instruction class . . .
@wfryer Second Life is certainly an option, but thinking of Croquet, Qwaq, Active Worlds, Multiverse . . . and how 2.0 tools integrate . . .
Researching a book chapter we're doing on Web 2.0 -- particularly as tools related to 3D environments. Any articles you'd recommend?
Sitting at North Myrtle Beach falling in love with the Internet all over again -- love that I can work from here!!
Late in the day - I fear people would rather shop than learn about one of the coolest projects around (Concord D, if you're shopping) :)
