Just reading thru the Oz Govt travel guidelines for Saudi. Lots on terrorism risks, but no mention of the clear # 1 risk - driving is CRAZY

Had to pick up youngest lad from school today and on to hospital; turns out he'd fractured his arm with a fall at PE
I'm a little surprised, but UAE web filtering seems slightly more aggressive than we have in Saudi Arabia.
Our suitcases are full, so we're ready to leave Dubai. Hopefully family Saudi visas are all finished tomorrow so we can go home to Riyadh.
We've finished the weekend with a full-on day at Wild Wadi, Dubai's water theme park. Early bed for all!
Our family has been trying out more of the restaurants in Riyadh. Furusato was lovely, although we'll book next time to have teppanyaki
Our family is off to Dubai for a week, prob leaving Sat night. Need to leave Saudi for my wife & boys to apply for new Saudi visas

When I arrived in KSA the $A was peaking at US$0.98. In less than 4mths it is now US$0.61 ... umm yes of course, I expected that

@MaltaPa I'll stick with stovepot coffee for now; if I got a home espresso machine I'd be buzzing 24x7
@mckeay I'm much less worried about financial impact of *any* sort of fraud, compared to the risks of further bank or countries defaulting
@mckeay World Bank & IMF have been less important recently because there's been so much easy credit available :)
@mckeay World Bank have plenty of interesting data, but still v hard to pull off major fraud - extremely unlikely.
@mckeay Don't panic; World Bank compromise can't have significant financial impact - for western economies in any case.
Wimax should be rolled out in this area in the next few months, inshallah ... so we may get better speed yet
So far our HSPDA internet link seems slightly better than the single shared ADSL for the compound, altho w/e congestion is still heavy.
